This particular chase took place literally on the border between South Africa and Botswana in the Kalahari desert. We headed out first thing in the morning, hoping to find a pride of lions we had sat with the previous evening as they were waking up for the night. One always hopes to find them on a fresh kill, but on this morning we found them on a stark open plain in hunting mode, focused on two young Eland that were milling about. The grace and lithe body of this lioness, combined with her intense focus as she chased after a young eland, makes for a pulse-pounding action sequence...of which this frame is my favourite.068 másolata 069 070
